CNC Machinist – Mill

SUMMARY

Bent River Machine is seeking an experienced, self-motivated CNC Mill Machinist.

An employee in this position will be responsible for the setup and operation of CNC mill machines. They will also troubleshoot tooling/setup issues and quality issues to meet customer requirements.

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT OUR FACILITY IN CLARKDALE ARIZONA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read and interpret prints, routings, and related documents to produce in-tolerance parts that meet design specifications
  • Set-up and operate all jobs routed to the assigned machines with little oversight and meet production deadlines
  • Communicate equipment or tooling issues to supervisor to ensure production schedules will be met
  • Understand GD&T geometric dimensions and tolerance for defining engineering tolerances
  • Select proper tooling, fixtures, machining accessories, feeds, speeds and offsets
  • Inspect component parts to print using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, plug gauges, comparator, etc. throughout the process
  • Complete required records and time scan-in and scan-out of billable jobs
  • Assist and participate in continuous improvements
  • Adhere to company safety requirements
  • Comply with company ISO/Quality Management System requirements
  • Work as a team to meet operational quality objectives and metrics: on time to promise, quality, product yield, and hours completed
  • Be able to edit programming and control

KEY RELATIONS & CROSS TRAINED POSITIONS:

  • This position has a key relationship with the Quality Lead.
  • This position would be cross-trained with Manual Machinists.
  • This position reports to the Fabrication Lead.

SKILL REQUIREMENT:

  • Three years minimum experience as a CNC Machinist
  • Applicants should be self-motivated, reliable and capable of working with minimal supervision on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle simultaneous projects are a must
  • Process planning experience including shop routings, set-up sheets, tool lists, bills of material, assembly instructions and process sequences
  • Knowledge in assembly, machining, good machining practices, feeds, and speeds, ability to read and understand drawings, quality control, and safety.
  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment
  • Must be able to lift 75lbs
  • Must be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident

This is a full time, day time, hourly position. Full-time employees are eligible for medical benefits after 60 days of employment, and dental/vision/disability after 90 days of employment. Also, after 90 days, a Simple IRA program with percentage match contributions and paid holidays are available.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 – $21.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
All employees are required to wear masks when they are not at their work stations. Daily production meeting is held virtually to allow for social distancing. If position allows, remote work is also encouraged.
