CNC MILL MACHINIST

Bent River Machine is seeking an experienced, self-motivated CNC Machinist that has a foundation in mill experience.

This position is responsible for setup and operation of CNC mill machines.  Also, to troubleshoot tooling/setup issues and quality issues in order to meet customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Read and interpret prints, routings and related documents to produce in-tolerance parts that meet design specifications
  • Set-up and operate all jobs routed to the assigned machines with no assistance and meet production deadlines
  • Communicate equipment or tooling issues to supervisor in order to ensure production schedules will be met
  • Understanding GD&T geometric dimensions and tolerance for defining engineering tolerances
  • Select proper tooling, fixtures, machining accessories, feeds & speeds and off-sets
  • Inspect component parts to print using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, plug gauges, comparator, etc. throughout the process.
  • Complete required records and time scan-in and scan-out of billable jobs
  • Assist and participate in continuous improvements
  • Adhere to company safety requirements
  • Comply with company ISO/Quality Management System requirements
  • Work as a team to meet operational quality objectives and metrics: on time to promise, quality, product yield, and hours completed

KEY RELATIONS & CROSS TRAINED POSITIONS:

  • Quality Lead – Key Relation
  • Manual Machinist – Cross Trained
  • Fabrication Lead – Report to

SKILL REQUIREMENT:

  • 3 Years minimum experience as a CNC Machinist
  • Self-motivated, reliable and capable of working with minimal supervision on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Great problem solving skills and the ability to handle simultaneous projects
  • Process planning experience including shop routings, set-up sheets, tool lists, bills of material, assembly instructions and process sequences
  • Knowledge in assembly, machining, good machining practices, feeds and speeds, ability to read and understand drawings, quality control and safety.
  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment
  • CNC experience is required
  • Must be able to lift 75lbs
  • Must be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident

ESTIMATION AND PLANNING COORDINATOR

Bent River Machine is seeking an experienced, self-motivated Estimation and Planning Coordinator.

This position is the liaison between Bent River Machine and our customers. This role is responsible for accurately estimating, planning and procuring complete customer jobs to specification.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for answering customer emails or website submissions, directing requests and unresolved issues to the designated resources, if needed.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of the Quoting Process and verifying compliance to all customer specifications when submitting an RFQ.
  • Follows up with customers on submitted RFQs for feedback.
  • Responsible for the Purchase Order Review process for each customer PO received. Schedules the review and provides all information and specifications needed to the Operations team prior to the review.
  • Responsible for confirming all POs with accurate delivery dates to the customer.
  • Imports quote data into the ERP system, planning the job based on input received and the action plan created during the PO Review.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate placement of purchase orders in accordance to dates agreed during the PO review – meeting the material cost center’s sales goals.
  • Follows up with suppliers to confirm purchase order placement and agreed delivery dates.
  • Participates in the daily Operations Meeting, providing status on quoting, planning and purchasing. Takes the role of the voice of the customer when necessary.
  • Responsible for the internal sales of Bent River Machine, maintaining and growing current customer relationships. Responsible for scheduling, contacting and visiting customers in accordance with the sales plan schedule.
  • Owns the quality metrics for Dollars Quoted and Revenue Won; On Time Delivery and works with the Logistics Lead to provide relevant data on the external provider quality metric.
  • Works with the Logistic and Quality Leads to assess, build and improve supply chain performance.
  • Works with the leadership team to determine and apply criteria for the evaluation, selection, monitoring of performance and re-evaluation of external providers based on their ability to provide processes or products and services in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Retains documented information of external providers’ criteria to meet customer requirements.
  • Champions supply chain and operations metrics. Drives improvements to the performance of the processes that are measured.
  • Proactively identifies and resolves any obstacles to plans to ensure execution and minimization of risks in customer service and sales goals.
  • Collaborates and participates in overall business system roll-outs, changes and improvement projects.
  • Support the company’s Quality Management System through continual improvement, meeting quality objectives, and maintaining accurate training documentation.

  • Understanding of ITAR, DFARS, and other customer regulations
  • Microsoft Office and ERP purchasing, planning, and sales order module experience
  • A professional, pleasant, cooperative personality that helps co-workers and external providers achieve great results.
  • Highly organized, with neat and detailed orientated ability to control and maintain data within an ERP system.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 QMS programs in manufacturing environment
  • Proficient and Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Ability to pick up 50lbs
